Digital Rupiah or also popularly known as the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) will not only be used as a means of payment, but can also function to buy goods in the metaverse. “Later, digital rupiah will be able to buy shoes, houses, cars, even goods in the metaverse,” said Perry in the “BIRAMA Series Talkshow: Walking the Path to Digital Rupiah” on Monday (5\/12\/2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That way, Digital Rupiah will later function as legal tender compared to paper money, which currently cannot be used in the digital world like the metaverse. Apart from being a legal means of payment for buying goods, Perry revealed that Digital Rupiah also has another function, namely as a unit of account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
